Jack Doohan: Late Fade in Bahrain
Doohan finished 14th in the Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Sakhir Circuit on Sunday evening.
Analysis:
The Alpine youngster started 11th on the grid and had his sights set on grabbing points in Bahrain. However, things would prove difficult from the outset. Doohan's lap 9 pitstop would put him back out in P18 after rejoining the action. He would wage mid-pack battles with several drivers and none more noteworthy than his exchanges with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Doohan would stay out of the pits during the mid-race safety car, but that would be his undoing. Aging tyres would see the young driver fade from P9 to P14 over the second-half of the grand prix.
