Pierre Gasly: Leads FP1 in Jeddah
Gasly has topped the timesheets during the first practice hour of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weekend, the Alpine driver causing a surprise by going fastest from McLaren's Lando Norris and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
George Russell would set the pace during the early runs on medium tyres, but later in the session when teams switched over to softs the leaderboard would get a shake up. Lando Norris would shoot to the top but would eventually be bumped by 0.007-seconds by Gasly. The Alpine veteran lead down a strong lap of 1:29.239 to be a surprise leader for this opening session in Saudi Arabia. Gasly will look to challenge the Top 5 on Sunday in the Saudi Arabian GP.
