Oscar Piastri: Third in Emilia-Romagna GP

Piastri finished third in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Imola Circuit on Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

Piastri would start on pole but he would be ambushed shortly after the lights out in turn 1. Max Verstappen would make a bold move to the outside and seemingly surprise the young McLaren driver. The Red Bull Racing star would scoot away and Piastri would settle into P2. He would pit early and attempt the undercut on lap 13, however the recovery from P12 back through the field would prove time consuming and challenging. Piastri would eventually get back to P2 by lap 47 but would once again yield that spot to Lando Norris in the closing laps and have to settle for third-place. It was his sixth podium finish of the season.
