Liam Lawson: Near Points in Barcelona
Lawson finished 11th in the Spanish Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
After starting 13th on the grid, Lawson was hopeful to drive up into the points for a second-straight grand prix. He would almost do it as the young driver came home P11 at the checkered flag. Lawson would accomplish it with a long opening stint that would allow him to move up to P9 and largely hold onto that track position gained. Despite an opening lap run-in with the back of Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin, Lawson would bring home a strong 11th-place in Barcelona.
