Lando Norris: Fast Second Practice in Austria

McLaren driver Norris topped the timesheets during Friday afternoon's second practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix, leading the way from team mate Oscar Piastri and Red Bull rival Max Verstappen, Formula1.com reports.

Analysis:

The McLarens would really pick up the pace over their first practice at the Red Bull Ring. As teams shifted from information gathering to mock qualifying runs, lap times would drop. Norris would finally post a circuit of 1:04.580 which would be just over one-tenth clear of Piastri for tops in the session. The encouraging performance gives Norris some hope that he can rebound from his disastrous Canadian GP performance to challenge for the win Sunday in Spielberg.
