Max Verstappen: Wins Belgian Sprint
Verstappen has clinched his first Sprint win of the season at the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, the Red Bull driver holding on for victory after making an impressive overtake on Oscar Piastri during the opening lap of action, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Verstappen got the jump on Oscar Piastri at the lights out and got around the young McLaren driver on lap 1. He would soon stretch out to a half-second lead as further back Lando Norris would also be overtaken by Charles Leclerc. Piastri would chase Verstappen for the full 15 laps but could only draw near his rear wing and couldn't catch him. The Red Bull Racing star would hold on in the closing laps to secure his first Sprint victory of the season and 12th overall.
