Max Verstappen: Grabs COTA Sprint Pole

Verstappen has taken pole position for the Sprint at the United States Grand Prix, the Dutchman putting in a stunning lap during the final moments of Sprint Qualifying to beat both McLaren cars, Formula1.com reports.

Analysis:

Lando Norris would assert his dominance in SQ1 and SQ2 but it would be Verstappen that would rise to the challenge in SQ3. The Red Bull Racing star would muscle home a lap of 1:32.143 of the Austin road circuit to edge Norris by just 0.017-seconds. It was Verstappen's seventh pole of the season and he will roll off P1 in Saturday's Sprint at COTA.
