Max Verstappen: Podium Run in Mexico

Verstappen finished third in the Mexico City Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

Verstappen would opt for a bit different race strategy Sunday at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The Red Bull Racing star would start the day on medium tyres and run a bit longer opening stint. He would get past George Russell on the opening lap and would run wide on two separate occasions but the stewards would not penalize him. Verstappen would stalk Charles Leclerc in the closing laps and seem to have the overtake in sight. However a late virtual safety car for the disabled Carlos Sainz would rob him the chance to take P2. Verstappen would settle for a strong third-place and 11th podium of the season.
