George Russell: Fast FP1 in China
Russell has topped the timesheets during the first and only practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, the Mercedes driver setting the pace from team mate Kimi Antonelli and McLaren's Lando Norris, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Mercedes once again this weekend would demonstrate they have the dominant pace early into this new season. Russell would lead on mediums and then again later in session on softs. His lap of 1:32.741 would be two-tenths clear of Antonelli and a half-second clear of Norris. Russell looks like a strong candidate to dominate both the sprint and grand prix this weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit.
