Isack Hadjar: Overcomes grid penalty

Rotowire ·

Hadjar finished sixth in the Belgian Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday.

Analysis:

Hadjar showed strong pace in qualifying and reached Q3, but was pushed to the back of the grid due to a penalty for changing elements of his power unit. He climbed to 15th after the first lap and then took advantage of a virtual safety car early in the race to help launch him 15 places up the grid by the end of the race. Hadjar has yet to tally a podium finish this season, but he has finished sixth or better in six consecutive races.
