With Honda set to provide McLaren with engines beginning in 2015, reports emerged suggesting the manufacturer is also interested in acquiring a stake in the Formula One team, something that was immediately denied by McLaren.
"Contrary to recent media reports, Honda has informed us that it has no intention to buy into McLaren. All of Honda's focus is on the development of its new Formula 1 power unit," McLaren said in a statement via Sky Sports.
It was reported that Honda was set to purchase current shares held by Bahrain's Mumtalakat Holding Company, but it seems any further involvement from Honda is highly unlikely.
