Paris - Angry Paris Saint-Germain supporters shunned Sunday's kick-off against bitter rivals Marseille in their first match at the Parc des Princes since a humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Manchester United.

Hardcore 'ultras' in the Auteuil end of the ground stayed silent and refused to take their seats for the start amid an outpouring of anger following the club's latest European failure.

Banners reading "We don't forget", "respect the establishment" and "banknotes in place of a heart" were hung in a section behind the goal to make clear supporters' unhappiness at PSG's 3-1 home defeat by United on March 6.

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel had called for the club's aggrieved fans to rally behind the players, after they were met with abuse from supporters who had been invited into a training session at the club's stadium last weekend.

"In my opinion it's not deserved and it doesn't help. I know they are disappointed, but they have no need to keep showing it again and again," Tuchel said on Saturday.
