Ibrahimovic sets PSG scoring record in Ligue 1 farewell match

Zlatan Ibrahimovic made sure he set one more club record before leaving Paris Saint-Germain for good.

The big Swede scored his 37th and 38th goals in his final Ligue 1 match Saturday to become PSG's all-time leading scorer in a single top-flight campaign. Carlos Bianchi held the previous benchmark at 37, which the Argentine initially set in 1977-78.

Ibrahimovic established himself as one of the best players to ever feature in Ligue 1, leading PSG to four consecutive titles and a domestic treble last season. The only thing that continues to elude him is the Champions League, which he has yet to win in his career.

But his goals came in all varieties, and in big games and small. There were seven hat-tricks in Ligue 1, borne out of acrobatics, athleticism, and pure ambition. He never went more than four league matches without scoring. His contributions were hardly lacking.

Only an injury could derail Ibrahimovic. A heel problem forced PSG's captain to miss several games at the start of the 2014-15 season, limiting his league total to just 19 goals. It was his lowest haul of his four years at the Parc des Princes.

Ibrahimovic bounced back this season with the best numbers of his career. At 34 years old, he also achieved a personal best with those 38 markers.

He came like a king, and left like a legend.
