Twitter reacts to Euro 2016's opening ceremony
Nowadays, a major sporting event isn't complete without a gaudy opening ceremony, and the Stade de France didn't disappoint ahead of Friday's big kick-off between France and Romania.
Ladies dressed as giant lips cavorted around fake foliage, while an aged man called David bopped around while pretending to adjust the sound blasting from the stadium's speakers.
Ladies and gentleman: Euro 2016.
Here's how the world of social media reacted to the tournament's opening ceremony:
The beginning
They've tried to engineer a tifo by putting coloured patches on people's seats for them to lift up. It has not worked

There's no way this game is kicking off on time #fra #romania

I can't tell if I'm watching the opening ceremony or the start of the Hunger Games. #Euro2016

The Can Can? Nice shoutout to Germany and Liverpool's mercurial midfielder/defender. #EURO2016

Didn't know Luka Modric could DJ.

Evidently, there's only one musician in France...

David Guetta standing there playing records really well

David Guetta always looks like he'd be a bit sticky to the touch.

Not knocking David Guetta's DJ booth but it looks like the Euro 2016 fans' info desk at Gare du Nord. I wonder if he's got a train timetable

And ..... we've got a flyover coming over the stadium with a tri-color stream. Did the NFL pay someone to do that?
