Rejected by the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Alexandre Lacazette, and Carlos Bacca over the past month, West Ham has now turned its attention to Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder, according to the Guardian's Ed Aarons.

Ben Yedder is thought to be available for €10 million, but West Ham faces competition from Leicester City for the 25-year-old Frenchman.

The Hammers have embarked on a seemingly endless - and so far fruitless - search for a goalscorer this summer. They had a €30-million bid accepted by AC Milan for Bacca, but like Batshuayi and Lacazette before him, the Colombian decided against a move to east London.

However, West Ham clearly isn't afraid to contend with Champions League clubs for high-profile targets.

Ben Yedder's a step down from West Ham's previous pursuits, but he still managed to score 17 goals in Ligue 1 last season. He has just a year remaining on his contract with Toulouse, meaning there's room for West Ham to negotiate a sensible deal.

Roma and Lyon also expressed interest in the forward, who was on the verge of joining Sevilla before Jorge Sampaoli's appointment.

Buying a striker of Ben Yedder's quality would also facilitate the sales of Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho. Valencia is currently of interest to Serie A outfit Lazio, while Sakho reportedly refused to join West Ham on its U.S. tour.
