Falcao turned down 3 Chinese bids to lead Monaco's title chase

Refreshed striker Radamel Falcao has denied the advances of free-spending Chinese Super League clubs, refusing to leverage his comeback campaign for a big-money move to the Far East.

The AS Monaco striker confirmed Friday he spurned three separate bids for his signature this month.

In the midst of a revival in the principality, Falcao was the subject of a reported €50-million approach from newly promoted outfit Tianjin Quanjian.

The French side rebuffed that proposal, and it appears Falcao had no intention of moving anyway.

"It is not easy to turn down offers from China. But I have said no three times to going there," Falcao told L'Equipe, in quotes reproduced by Agence France-Presse. "It is not easy for the club either to turn down a lot of cash - yet I feel this is an important season for my career and for the team.

"I want to win with Monaco and show I am 100 percent with the club. I dream of winning something here."

Success this season is a welcome reprieve for a player whose disappearing act was as dramatic as it was unexpected. Loan spells at Manchester United and Chelsea were disastrous, and neither Premier League side opted to sign Falcao on a permanent basis.

Searching for a new beginning in the summer, he returned to parent club Monaco, which gave him the necessary stability to rediscover his form.

He's recorded 18 tallies across all competitions with Monaco - his highest total since his poaching heyday at Atletico Madrid in 2012-13 - and earned a call-up to his national team for World Cup qualifiers last November.

"I didn't forget how to play football. I just need to play matches, then everything comes naturally," he said.

Falcao will lead his side to Paris on Sunday for a title showdown against PSG. Monaco is currently two points clear atop the Ligue 1 table.
