Petition calls for Barcelona, PSG to replay match due to officiating
Unhappy about Barcelona's conning of match officials, one supporter is trying to do something about it.
On Friday, a petition was started on change.org by Luis Melendo Olmedo, who called for a repetition of the second leg of the tie between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League's Round of 16. The Blaugrana won 6-5 on aggregate after overturning a four-goal deficit in what was quite possibly the greatest comeback in the history of the tournament, but there was cheating amid the celebrations.
The call for the match to be replayed is based on "incidents that seriously harmed PSG," and the petition includes a list of 13 controversial decisions made by the referee, Denis Aytekin. Among them are the dubious penalty kicks won by Neymar and Luis Suarez in the second half.
The petition reached 75,000 signatures on Sunday.
