Lyon president won't rule out selling Lacazette to PSG
Lyon isn't averse to selling Alexandre Lacazette to Ligue 1 rival Paris Saint-Germain - as long as the price is right.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas attempted to dispel the notion surrounding the sale of French-born players after catching word that his counterpart at Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, had expressed concerns to the country's governing body.
Aulas added that he's open to selling Lacazette to PSG so long as the club is willing to offer a fee comparable to bids Lyon has received for the French international.
"I know Nasser suggested to Noel Le Graet (president of the French Football Federation) that he is not investing that much in French players because he thought other presidents of French clubs looked badly upon it," Aulas said, as translated by Jonathan Johnson of ESPNFC.
"I want him to know that if he makes an offer for Alexandre at least equal to that of the other clubs bidding for him, then Alex can go to Paris without problem.
"I am a businessman and a modern club president. Transfer money must be reinvested into French football, as I always did when we were at the peak of our powers.
"When transfer money is shared abroad, it strengthens our competitors instead."
A move away from Lyon appeared to be imminent earlier this summer when Lacazette reportedly agreed to a switch to Atletico Madrid. However, the transfer fell through when the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the Spanish team's transfer ban until January 2018.
The 26-year-old has recently been linked to Arsenal, with Aulas reportedly demanding the Premier League outfit pay at least €55 million to secure Lacazette's services.
