Report: Liverpool to submit improved €80M bid for Monaco's Lemar
Liverpool is ready to table a third bid worth £75 million (€80 million) for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, according to the Liverpool Echo's James Pearce.
Bids of £55.5 million (€60 million) and £64.8 million (€70 million) were reportedly rejected by Monaco, which has maintained throughout the summer Lemar isn't for sale.
That apparently means nothing to Liverpool, which could offer Divock Origi on loan to sweeten the deal.
Despite Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane's presence on the wings, the predominantly left-sided Lemar is a target for the Reds after a dominant season in Ligue 1. The SM Caen product scored nine goals and served up another 10 assists in 34 league appearances last term, which also encouraged Arsenal to make a move.
However, the Gunners' bids were well below what the Reds have offered to the principality side.
Jurgen Klopp's side has ramped up its activity in the final days of the transfer window, putting a deal in place to sign midfielder Naby Keita from RB Leipzig next summer.
