Mbappe wants to share Ligue 1 Golden Boot with Ben Yedder
The way in which Kylian Mbappe won his second straight Ligue 1 Golden Boot apparently isn't sitting well with the Paris Saint-Germain star.
Mbappe has called on Ligue 1 to also reward Wissam Ben Yedder after the 20-year-old won the award on a technicality despite finishing the season level on goals with the AS Monaco forward.
"Thank you for all your messages. I think that Wissam also deserves a trophy, like the Premier League did last season, to reward his year," Mbappe said in a tweet translated by Sky Sports.
The two knocked in 18 goals each before the season was brought to a halt and eventually canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. But Mappe was chosen as the lone winner after scoring all of his goals from open play, while three of Ben Yedder's tallies came from the penalty spot.
In response to Mbappe, Ben Yedder jokingly offered a solution, saying, "Thank you bro, congratulations to you ... We can alternate if you want."
The Premier League's Golden Boot was shared last season between Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool stars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah when all three finished with 22 goals.
