FIFA 21 ratings: Messi edges Ronaldo again as top 100 players are unveiled
Cristiano Ronaldo may have won more trophies last season, but Lionel Messi can boast that he's still the highest-rated player in FIFA 21.
For the second year in a row, Messi tops the list of superstars - such as Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Kevin De Bruyne, and Neymar - with a score of 93 in EA Sports' latest edition of the wildly popular video game.
In all, 12 players enter the season with a rating of 90 or better, including Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe and Liverpool trio Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane. Only 10 players reached that tier last season.
Ciro Immobile's stock rose the highest among players that cracked the top 100 last season, while players such as Christian Eriksen and David De Gea plummeted down the rankings.
New additions to the top 100 include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jadon Sancho, Serge Gnabry, Timo Werner, and Kai Havertz.
Meanwhile, Ivan Rakitic, Alexandre Lacazette, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed the cut after they were featured among the best 100 players in last season's version of the game. Other notable omissions include Gareth Bale and Christian Pulisic.
