Fulham sign right-back Kenny Tete from Lyon for €3.2M
Fulham completed the €3.2-million signing of Kenny Tete from Lyon on Thursday.
Tete signed a four-year contract in west London, with a club option for a further year. The Dutch right-back's former club will receive 10% of any future sale from Fulham that surpasses €10 million.
"I heard of Fulham's interest and I was bowled over. I spoke with people around me and knew quickly I wanted to leave Lyon and join Fulham," Tete said.
"The team is back in the Premier League now and I will give 100% to keep us there."
Right-back duties at Fulham were predominantly shared between Denis Odoi and Cyrus Christie last season. Tete made 18 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon in 2019-20, nine of which were off the bench.
Tete is the Cottagers' sixth summer signing. Previously, Anthony Knockaert's and Harrison Reed's loans from Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton, respectively, were turned into permanent moves; Mario Lemina was brought in on a temporary deal from Southampton; young full-back Antonee Robinson was signed from Wigan Athletic; and Alphonse Areola was acquired Wednesday on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
Fulham begin their Premier League return against Arsenal on Saturday.
