USWNT star Lindsey Horan signs for Lyon
Lyon, Jan 27, 2022 (AFP) - The United States' Lindsey Horan on Thursday signed for French club Lyon from National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) outfit Portland Thorns.
The 27-year-old, voted National Women's Soccer League Most Valuable Player in 2018, has penned a deal until June 30, 2023, the French club said.
Horan has 108 caps and scored 25 goals for the US, winning the 2019 Women's World Cup in France and a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
She started her professional career in France with Paris Saint-Germain, playing between 2012 and 2016 before joining Portland.
Horan has played 130 NWSL matches, and won the title in 2017, alongside France's Amandine Henry, who she teams up with again at Lyon.
She becomes the 12th US player to line out for the French side notably Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe and currently Catarina Macario.
