Real Madrid president tells PSG that Cristiano Ronaldo will cost €1 billion
Paris Saint-Germain has been told they will have to obliterate the record transfer fee for a player if they want to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to France.
The warning comes from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who said the Ligue 1 outfit's chances of signing the Portuguese superstar revolved around their willingness to meet the enormous release clause in Ronaldo's contract.
"If PSG want Cristiano Ronaldo it's simple: they have to pay the €1 billion release clause," Perez told a Spanish radio station, courtesy of The Telegraph.
"No one is a prophet in football, but we don't want to sell him in 2016, he still has 3 years left on his contract."
Ronaldo, 30, has been on PSG's radar for some time. The French side most recently attempted to buy him during the summer until its last minute, €110-million bid was rejected before the summer transfer window closed.
Coincidentally, Real Madrid has been the team that's set the mark for record transfer fees on several occasions. They most recently paid €100-million to buy Gareth Bale from Tottenham in 2013.
