The show of solidarity at Wembley Stadium didn't go unnoticed.
On Wednesday, one day after England and France played out an emotional friendly and five days after attacks on Paris, France killed 129 people, the front page of L'Equipe thanked the English hosts for the support they showed ahead of kickoff and during the fixture, publishing an image of the two teams gathered at the centre-circle along with the caption: "Thank You."

Wembley was lit up with the colours of France's flag for the match and supporters of both France and England came together for a rousing rendition of France's national anthem, "La Marseillaise."

Above L'Equipe's thanks are two sentences that read: "Wembley was blue, white, and red yesterday to pay tribute to France. An evening full of emotion was punctuated by a victory for England and for honour."
