James Rodriguez released from Colombia's tour, will return to Bayern Munich
James Rodriguez won't be leading Colombia in China.
On Friday, the Federacion Colombiana de Futbol announced that Colombia will continue its Asian tour with 22 players. The coaching staff released James and Cristian Zapata, who will return to Bayern Munich and AC Milan, respectively.
Colombia suffered a 2-1 defeat to South Korea in a friendly Thursday, and will play China in another friendly on Tuesday. The games mark Los Cafeteros' first tests since they qualified for the 2018 World Cup on the final matchday of CONMEBOL's two-year marathon.
James struggled to make an impact in South Korea. The Colombian attacking midfielder produced one of the worst dives ever seen, and he was schooled by Ki Sung-Yeung, who left the product of Envigado for dead twice in less than 10 seconds.
