Report: AC Milan fear Ibrahimovic suffered serious injury in training
AC Milan are concerned Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a potentially season-threatening injury during a training session on Monday, reports Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia.
The Swede, 38, sustained a calf problem near the end of the session, but there are fears in the Milan camp he may have damaged his Achilles, Di Marzio added.
He will undergo tests on Tuesday to determine the nature and severity of the ailment.
The veteran striker rejoined Milan in December, signing a six-month deal that includes an option to extend his contract by another season. He scored three goals in eight Serie A appearances prior to the pandemic-induced work stoppage on March 9.
A decision on when the Italian season can resume is expected to be finalized later this week, with a targeted return for mid-June.
Milan sit seventh in the table with 12 matches remaining.
