Roma reach agreement to sign Mkhitaryan permanently from Arsenal
Henrikh Mkhitaryan's career at Arsenal is over.
AS Roma announced Mkhitaryan's loan stay has been extended until the end of the season and they have reached a preliminary agreement over a deal to sign the Armenian international permanently for the 2020-21 campaign.
"I'm very pleased," Mkhitaryan said.
"I'm happy to extend my stay here, because I still have things that I haven’t achieved yet that I want to achieve.
"I’m looking forward to it."
The attacking midfielder made the temporary move to Italy last summer after a disappointing 18-month spell at Arsenal.
Mkhitaryan struggled to establish himself as a key contributor in north London - scoring eight goals and recording eight assists in 39 Premier League appearances - after joining the Gunners from Manchester United in a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.
The 31-year-old has six goals and four assists in 15 Serie A matches for Roma this season.
