Europa League draw: United to face AC Milan in last 16
A handful of captivating matchups should offer more than enough entertainment in the Europa League's round of 16.
The draw for the next phase of the competition took place Friday in Nyon, Switzerland, one day after the round of 32 wrapped up.
The standout fixture features Manchester United - Europa League winners in 2017 - taking on seven-time Champions League winners AC Milan over two legs.
The Italian club snuck past Crvena Zvezda in the last round with a win on aggregate, while United advanced after beating Real Sociedad. The encounter between the two European heavyweights will also see Milan's ageless wonder Zlatan Ibrahimovic face his former club.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will get a chance to avenge last season's heartbreaking elimination from the Europa League after being drawn with Olympiacos again. The Greek club knocked the Gunners out of last season's tournament in the round of 32 on a dramatic goal in the final minute of extra time.
Here's the draw in full:
- Ajax vs. Young Boys
- Dynamo Kyiv vs. Villarreal
- Roma vs. Shakhtar Donetsk
- Olympiacos vs. Arsenal
- Dinamo Zagreb vs. Tottenham
- Manchester United vs. AC Milan
- Slavia Prague vs. Rangers
- Granada vs. Molde
The first legs of each fixture are scheduled for March 11, with the second legs set for March 18.
