Report: Barcelona, Juventus want Aubameyang on loan
Barcelona and Juventus have approached Arsenal over the possibility of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan until the end of the season, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Arsenal reportedly signaled their willingness to part with Aubameyang after a disciplinary breach in December that resulted in the Gabon striker being stripped of the captaincy.
Aubameyang, who hasn't played for the Gunners since early December, attracted interest from Saudi Arabia last week, as Al-Hilal reportedly made an offer to sign the 32-year-old on loan with an option to buy. But it's understood the former Borussia Dortmund star prefers to remain in Europe.
Arsenal, however, have yet to make a final decision on Aubameyang's future, Ornstein adds.
Aubameyang's salary - reportedly worth around £350,000 per week - is expected to be one of the main focuses during discussions, as well as the duration of a potential loan agreement.
The future of Juventus striker Alvaro Morata could have a role to play. Ornstein reports Aubameyang could join Barcelona if the Spanish striker remains in Turin. However, Barcelona's financial struggles may make it difficult for them pay Aubameyang's wages. If Morata - who's on loan from Atletico Madrid and has been linked to Barcelona - leaves, Juventus will push to sign the Premier League star.
Arsenal's search for a replacement could also influence their decision. The Gunners will reportedly aim to sign attacking reinforcements ahead of Monday's transfer deadline before sanctioning Aubameyang's departure.
