Napoli sign goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic from Torino
Reigning Italian champions Napoli are continuing their ambitious mercato with the €21-million ($24.6 million) acquisition of Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic on loan with an option to buy.
The 28-year-old Serbian international has played for Torino since 2020, making 158 appearances in all competitions.
"Napoli announces that they had acquired Vanja Milinkovic-Savic from Torino on loan with an option to buy," the club posted in a statement on Saturday evening.
The Serb will be competing with Napoli's first-choice goalkeeper, Italian Alex Meret, also 28.
Napoli have been the most active Italian side this summer, recruiting eight players, including Kevin De Bruyne, whose contract with Manchester City has expired, and Dutchman Sam Beukema, who joined from Bologna for €31 million.
Napoli are still hoping to sell Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray but negotiations with the Turkish club, where the Nigerian striker spent last season on loan, are still stalling over the transfer fee which the Italians have put at €75 million.
The 2025-26 Serie A season kicks off on 23 August.
