Juan Eduardo Esnaider hired as new Getafe manager
MADRID - Getafe named former Argentine international Juan Eduardo Esnaider as their new coach until the end of the season on Tuesday, a day after sacking Fran Escriba.
"Juan Eduardo Esnaider will be the new coach of Getafe until the end of the season," said a statement on the club website.
Esnaider already has coaching experience at the Madrid-based club having been Real Madrid legend Michel's assistant for two years between 2009 and 2011, including the team's highest ever La Liga finish of sixth in 2009-10.
However, he has limited experience as a head coach with Real Zaragoza B and Cordoba in the Spanish lower divisions.
Getafe is two points from safety with six games remaining after a run of 12 league games without a win sealed Escriba's fate and face the daunting task of a visit from Real Madrid on Saturday.
