Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique came to the rescue as the pair combined in the final minutes of Monday's match against the Czech Republic to help Spain secure three points in its first group-stage match of Euro 2016.
In a match where chances were few and far between as the defending Euro champion struggled to find an answer against a stubborn Czech defence, Spain finally discovered a crack in the back line in the 87th minute when Iniesta delivered a perfect cross into the box to a surging Pique who found the back of the net with a powerful header beyond Petr Cech.
Spain will hope for a better performance in its next match against Turkey before the group-stage finale against Croatia.
