Swansea boss Guidolin: Borja Baston in, Andre Ayew out a possibility

Francesco Guidolin has confirmed there could be a revolving door in the coming days at Swansea City with the arrival of Borja Baston and the reported £20-million sale of Andre Ayew to West Ham United.

Reports surfaced earlier this week that Borja, who has just one league outing for Atletico Madrid despite being with the club since the age of five, was being sighted for the Swans, and Guidolin confirmed that they are nearing a deal.

"I think (the Borja signing) is close, I think it is imminent," he said following Saturday's 1-0 friendly defeat of Stade Rennais. "I was happy with the squad before but I am more happy now because with Fernando Llorente and Borja Baston I think we have signed two good players, two very important players."

Borja, 23, bagged 18 goals in a loan spell with Eibar last season so he, along with the experienced Llorente, is charged with filling the goalscoring dearth created by Ayew's expected departure.

In West Ham's largely fruitless hunt for a frontman, which saw efforts to bring in Olympique Lyonnais' Alexandre Lacazette and Carlos Bacca of AC Milan fall on the wayside, it's allegedly had a bid worth £20 million accepted by Swansea.

Guidolin suggested negotiations are still ongoing over this potential move: "At the moment nothing is agreed but I know there is this possibility and tomorrow or later we can understand some more."

Ayew started and ended the 2016-17 campaign in devastating fashion, but went on a five-month spell during the season with a miserly two strikes.

There has been a flurry of activity in south Wales this summer, particularly with the strikeforce. Ayew appears likely to join Alberto Paloschi, Eder, and Bafetimbi Gomis in leaving the club, while Llorente and Borja join the seldom-used Marvin Emnes in a new-look attack.

Swansea begins the 2016-17 Premier League term with a trip to top-flight newcomer Burnley.
