Manchester City has completed the signing of Claudio Bravo from Barcelona for €18 million (£15.4 million), plus an additional €2 million should certain variables be met during the goalkeeper's stay in the northwest, his former club revealed Thursday.

The 33-year-old Chilean has agreed to a four-year deal with the Blues, and represents the controversial replacement of fan favourite Joe Hart between the sticks.
"I have followed City's progress in recent years and obviously know some of my new teammates from the Copa America," said Bravo.
"It is not easy to leave a club like Barcelona where I had two fantastic years, but the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola was too good to refuse."
Hart, the first-choice City and England 'keeper for the past six years, was unceremoniously demoted to bench-warming duties soon after Pep Guardiola took the helm this summer.
The most popular reasoning for the Spaniard's decision is that Hart has an apparent lack of ease with the ball at his feet, something that his manager became accustomed to with his goalies during stints in charge of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

In his stead, Willy Caballero was called into the first XI, but now the Argentinian is expected to step back into reserve to make room for Bravo. This would leave Hart as third-choice, but more likely seeking a transfer before the window slams shut on Aug. 31.
His future, however, has been left further in disarray since Everton manager Ronald Koeman distanced himself from a move on Thursday.
Hart was first given a starting berth in Wednesday's tilt with Steaua Bucharest, and it sparked emotional scenes at the Etihad Stadium as the 2006 signing from Shrewsbury Town appeared to be saying farewell to the City support.
At City, Bravo should enjoy more minutes at the top level after sharing duties with Marc-Andre ter Stegen at the Camp Nou.
Despite the divisive decision in dumping a terrace treasure in Hart, Guardiola spoke of his delight in securing the protracted transfer of Bravo.
"Claudio is a fantastic goalkeeper and an excellent addition to our squad," he said.
"He has experience and great leadership qualities and is in the prime of his life. He is a goalkeeper I have admired for a number of years and I'm really happy he is now a City player."
Bravo could be handed his debut at the earliest opportunity - West Ham United visits Eastlands on Sunday.
