Barcelona's Messi, Umtiti available to face Deportivo
Lionel Messi has a chance to appear in his first match in almost a month after manager Luis Enrique confirmed his availability ahead of Barcelona's clash with Deportivo on Saturday.
Messi, along with centre-back Samuel Umtiti, returned to training this week following a stint on the sidelines to recover from an injured groin.
Though Enqrique was unwilling to disclose what type of role either player would have during the encounter, the Spanish gaffer said both players have a chance to feature.
"They’ve trained well with the squad and we’ll see tomorrow what we do with them," Enrique told reporters.
"In principle, they’re both available."
The Argentine has not appeared in a match since Sept. 20, when he was forced to leave Barca's match against Atletico.
Meanwhile, Umtiti, who arrived at Barcelona this past summer following a €25-million transfer from Lyon, was forced to miss France's World Cup qualifiers after picking up an injury shortly before the Atletico clash.
