Watch: Barcelona benefits from blown offside call as Messi nets another
Reuters
Valencia was none too pleased with conceding the opening goal in Saturday's contest against Barcelona, and it had nothing to do with Los Che's inability to stop Lionel Messi.
The home side was rightly furious with the assistant referee after Messi fired the ball into the back of the net, as replays clearly showed that Luis Suarez, standing in an offside position, impeded the view of goalkeeper Diego Alves as he leaped to avoid blocking his illustrious teammate's shot.
The goal stood, however, leaving new boss Cesare Prandelli and his men to pick up the pieces.
