Saul Niguez won't consider leaving Atletico Madrid as long as Diego Simeone is manager.

After Simeone's possible departure, the highly sought-after midfielder could depart, as Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly considered bids to sign the gifted midfielder.

Until then, however, Saul will remain committed to Atletico in an effort to repay the Argentine manager for the trust he's showed him over the past two seasons.

"As long as Simeone is here, no, I won't leave," Saul said to Spanish magazine Club del Deportista, courtesy of Sky Sports. "When a coach has faith in you as much as he has and gives you that confidence, it's vital."

Despite agreeing to a contract extension earlier this year that's designed to keep him at the club until 2021, Niguez could conceivably depart Atletico in 2018 after Simeone opted to shorten his deal.

Last month, Simeone confirmed his contract had been cut by two years from 2020 to 2018. Though the reasoning behind the decision was to increase the club's financial flexibility, many have speculated the 46-year-old may be ready to end his reign as Los Rojiblancos manager

"For me and for Atletico it's the same: Simeone is everything," added Saul.

"The tranquility he transmits to me has made me the player I am today on the pitch. It took a lot to win his confidence, but now I have it I have to keep fighting to the death for him."

The 21-year-old cemented himself as a first-team regular last season, He went on to play a pivotal role during the Champions League final when his stunning goal against Bayern Munich helped ensure Atletico a place in the final.
