Ronaldo: 'This has been the best year of my career'

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is enjoying life more than ever this year. Don't take our word for it, though.

The Portuguese icon said as much himself in a week in which he signed a five-year contract extension with his club, was named Marca's Alfredo Di Stefano Player of the Year for the fourth time, and earned a new lifetime sponsorship deal with Nike.

"It has been a tremendous week," Ronaldo said, according to Marca. "Three days ago I renewed with Madrid and now have my new agreement with Nike, so this has probably been the best week of my life."

Ronaldo's best week ever comes during a year when success has seemed to follow him wherever he's pursued it.

"I'm sure it has been the most important year of my career," he added. "To win the Champions League with Real Madrid, the European Championship with Portugal, renewing with Real, renewing with Nike, I'm 100 percent sure this has been the best year of my career."
