The new contract is an extension of the 35-year-old's current deal which expires after the season, and includes a €40-million buyout clause.
Auriz - who has found the back of the net 12 times this term - is one goal shy of moving into eighth place on Bilbao's all-time scoring list after scoring 133 times during three separate stints with the club.
The Spanish striker made headlines earlier in the season when he became the oldest national team player to find the back of the net when he scored during La Roja's World Cup qualifier against Macedonia in November.
