Valencia is consistently inconsistent.
Three days after shocking Real Madrid with a 2-1 victory at the Mestalla, Los Che surrendered two goals in the final 12 minutes of normal time to depart CD Alaves' Estadio de Mendizorroza empty handed on Saturday.
Aleksandar Katai's 86th-minute winner left Valencia positioned 14th in La Liga before the other eight matches left to be played this weekend.
Carlos Soler gave the visitor the lead on 70 minutes, but that was promptly wiped out by Ibai Gomez before Katai took all three points for his side.
