Ziganda named Athletic Bilbao manager

Athletic Bilbao has appointed Jose Angel Ziganda as its latest senior-team manager, the club announced Wednesday in the wake of Ernesto Valverde's departure.
Ziganda, 50, has spent the last six years as manager of Athletic Bilbao B, where he's overseen more than 200 matches since 2011. He steps up to the senior-team role with Valverde reportedly set to take over from Luis Enrique at Barcelona for next season.
As a player, "Cuco" Ziganda spent eight years at the San Mames Stadium, but spent equal time playing for Osasuna, a club he also managed from 2006-08.
