Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard's ongoing audition for Real Madrid's first team will take him back to the Netherlands.
Los Blancos announced Tuesday they have loaned the midfielder to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem for the entirety of 2018-19. Odegaard spent last season, as well as the latter half of the 2016-17 campaign on loan with fellow Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen, scoring three goals in 43 appearances.
Odegaard first joined Madrid as a 16-year-old in 2015, with the Spanish club paying Norwegian side Stromsgodset a reported fee in the range of €3-4 million. After opening the following campaign with Real Madrid Castilla, the club's B team, Odegaard made his debut with the senior squad on the last matchday of La Liga, replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in the 58th minute of a 7-3 victory over Getafe.
The 19-year-old has earned 12 caps to date for Norway. He made his international senior debut as a 15-year-old in August 2014 when he started in a friendly against the United Arab Emirates.
