Report: Zinedine Zidane to be named manager of Bordeaux
Zinedine Zidane seems destined to become a manager at some point in the future, and according to multiple reports emanating from France, the footballing icon's ascension from Real Madrid assistant to leading man will be a rapid one.
Speaking of midfield legends... reports in France tonight claim Zinedine Zidane is in talks to become the new coach of Bordeaux.

The initial report surfaced from French television station i-TELE Foot, and claimed that the legendary Frenchman will join his former club in a deal that is "90 percent" finalized.
Per ESPN FC, Zidane said in a recent interview that after spending time with his family following his retirement, he is now ready to commit himself entirely to the game once again.
"I wanted to enjoy my family, my children, because for 16 or 18 years, I was just focused on football," Zidane, who has four sons, was quoted as saying by RMC. "So, when I stopped, I gave myself to my family. Now, I want to do something, come back into football and show once again that I can bring something as a coach. As a player, you play a game and you go home. Coach, it's different. He's responsible for 23 or 25 players and it's a different job, which I like."
Zidane, 41, has made his desire to assume a head coaching role well known, with much of the speculation being that his ultimate dream is to one day return as the bench boss at Real Madrid.
The 1998 World Cup hero - and 2006 villain - reportedly asked the French FA if he could succeed Laurent Blanc as national team manager back in 2012, but it seems he has settled on a more humble beginning to his head coaching career.
Should he ultimately end up with Bordeaux, the move wouldn't come as too much of a surprise.
Zidane spent four seasons with the club, starring from 1992-1996 and earning worldwide renown as one of the most exciting midfielders in the game before securing a transfer to Italian club Juventus.
While his career at club level is remembered for his accomplishments with both the Bianconeri and Real Madrid, it was his time with the French side that paved the way for his superstardom.
Fitting, then, that his coaching career could take the same trajectory.
