The German midfielder was introduced by the Spanish club Thursday after completing his transfer earlier in the day, and revealed that he will wear the No. 8 kit that had belonged to departed Brazilian star Kaka for the past five seasons.

Real Madrid are coming off a historic season in which they finally ended their 12-year wait for a tenth Champions League title. With Kroos, and potentially James Rodriguez in the fold, one suspects they won't have to wait that long to add to their European trophy haul.
