VIDEO: Superb counter-attack leads to Real Madrid's 3rd goal
In hindsight, Andres Iniesta probably should have let the ball go out for a throw-in.
Instead, his effort to keep the ball in-bounds led to a beautifully orchestrated counter-attack from Real Madrid with Karim Benzema giving the hosts a 3-1 advantage.
The play originated from a Barcelona corner kick when Ivan Rakitic's awful effort was cleared out of the Real Madrid box. Iniesta and Isco engaged in a foot race to the halfway line.
Iniesta got a foot on the ball, only to see his touch guide the ball past his defender and allowed Isco to break on the counter.
As Isco broke towards goal, he found an open Cristiano Ronaldo who then slid the ball over to James Rodriguez. The Colombian midfielder elected not to shoot when he saw Benzema cut through the Barca defence and sent a perfect through ball to the Frenchman for a the skillful finish beyond the 'keeper.
