Messi sets La Liga scoring record with 252nd goal, scores 253rd minutes later
Lionel Messi has no equals.
Barcelona's superlative superstar is now the all-time leading scorer in La Liga history, scoring his 252nd league goal during Saturday's match against Sevilla. The marker breaks the tie with Athletic Bilbao legend Telmo Zarra that he had created with a goal earlier in the contest.
Breaking free in the center of the pitch, Messi started the attack before getting onto the end of a pass from fellow star Neymar to establish himself as the league's greatest-ever scorer.
Celebration was in order at the Camp Nou.
The Argentine, just for fun, would go on to complete his hat-trick minutes later, already creating separation between himself and everyone else at the top of the all-time scoring chart.
It's 253 and counting for the most prolific scorer Spain has ever seen.
