VIDEO: Lionel Messi hit by bottle during goal celebration

A jubilant celebration turned ugly after Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi was struck on the head by a bottle while he celebrated his team's game-winning goal.

As the Argentine joined the team celebrations following Sergio Busquets's goal in stoppage time to beat Valencia, video clearly shows an object tumbling towards the pile of Barcelona players.

The object, which turned out to be a bottle, hit Messi on the side of his head.

Ironically, as Messi stood rubbing his head - in visible pain and checking for blood - he was shown a yellow card by the match referee for apparently complaining about the incident.
