Barcelona's Jeremy Mathieu will miss Sunday's match vs. Deportivo

Barcelona will be without defender Jeremy Mathieu for Sunday's trip to Deportivo, as the club announced that the Frenchman is dealing with an Achilles problem.

Mathieu, 31, played all 90 minutes in the club's 4-0 Copa del Rey victory over Elche earlier this week, and while it was not disclosed if the problem arose in that match or in training, Barcelona noted that his absence from Sunday's contest is simply precautionary.
