Xavi makes 500th La Liga appearance for Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder Xavi, widely regarded as one of the best of his generation - and among the all-time greats - joined some elite company Saturday when he was introduced as a second-half substitute in the Catalan derby against Espanyol.

The Spaniard becomes only the eighth player in league history to reach the impressive milestone, joining the likes of Raul, Iker Casillas, and all-time leader Andoni Zubizarreta.
